It’s the perfect size for everyday cooking and feels very sturdy and well made. It heats evenly, cooks beautifully, and has quickly become one of my go-to pans in the kitchen.

Not as heavy as cast iron but all the same qualities. It works on my stove top and in the oven. It is also great for an open fire when camping.

Who makes it

One family. One shop. Gilmer, Texas.

Texas Pan Company is Ben, his sons Caleb and Connor, and their cousin Jacob. We started because we were tired of non-stick pans flaking into our food. We value things that are made in America and made by hand, so that is how we make ours. Every pan is cut, pressed, seasoned, and riveted by hand in our shop in Gilmer.

What's in the pan

Steel, copper, and grapeseed oil. That's it.

12-gauge domestic carbon steel, a forged handle, and three copper rivets set by hand. The cooking surface is grapeseed oil baked onto the steel for an hour. It gets better the more you cook on it.

No coating Nothing sprayed or bonded onto the steel.
No PTFE or PFOA The chemicals behind traditional non-stick aren't in this pan.
Seasoned, not coated If the seasoning wears, you put it back with oil and heat.

The essentials

Know your steel.

We start with domestic carbon steel sourced in the United States—not imported steel from China or overseas. A little care earns that honest material a lifetime of performance.

Why carbon steel?

Carbon steel combines responsive heat control with the toughness required for high-temperature cooking. With seasoning and use, the surface becomes increasingly personal to the cook.

Where does your steel come from?

We use domestic carbon steel sourced in the United States—not steel imported from China or elsewhere overseas. That American steel is then formed and built into cookware here in Texas.

How much does it weigh?

3 lb 14 oz.

Can I cook over an open fire?

Yes. Texas Pan Company cookware is made for the range, oven, grill, and open flame. Let the pan heat gradually and use the same good judgment you would with any high-temperature cookware.

How do I care for carbon steel?

Wash it simply, dry it completely, and apply a very light coat of oil when needed. Regular cooking and proper drying are the foundation of a durable seasoned surface.

What if I don't like it?

Send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. It needs to be unused and in its original packaging. Email sales@texaspancompany.com with your order number and we'll send instructions. For a change-of-mind return, you cover return shipping. If the pan arrived damaged or defective, we do.
